Snake Country
sPat-McKrillgettingtoknowtheneighbours
May we introduce - Pat McKrill was born in London, and in 1946, with his parents, to what was then Rhodesia. He had little choice at the time. He was educated there, and spent most of his time having fun in the bush, which probably explains his spectacularly poor Matric results. His only claim to fame is that he still holds the Zimbabwean High Jump record.

At an early age, his future was mapped out for him, however, like most people, he’s still looking for the map.

Pat, his music-teacher wife Barbara, and their 2 daughters left Zimbabwe and became South Africans in 1983. Their eldest daughter Colleen is now the mother of their twin grandsons, and their youngest, Angela, prior to qualifying as a clinical hypnotist, was a manager for Jamie Oliver in London. A seriously big ‘Brag Book’ sits on the lounge table.

Pat, being a slow learner, decided that the time had come to do what HE wanted to do, which was: Write; Join the speaking circuit; Train people to work effectively; Work at de-stressing not only himself, but also those around him; Invent things.

Pat conducts technical training in the motor industry ‘aftermarket’, gives motivational presentations based on his experiences in the bush, and consults on two Environmental committees. He is in the process of writing a book, “Getting to Know the Neighbours”. An inveterate letter-writer and experienced columnist, The Meander Chronicle is delighted to welcome him to our pages!
